In the annual battle for the Route 209 Trophy, the Lehighton Indians were too much for Jim Thorpe’s Olympians and for the first time in (maybe) 6 years the Indians will display that trophy at their school. Boo.

Varsity Cheerleaders and Big Herc help raise awareness of breast cancer.

The first of two Saturday afternoon games was played today in Lansford where the Olympians hosted the Mahanoy Area Bears. The day was beautiful but the Bears proved unstoppable and beat the Olympians 52-14. The cheerleaders dressed in pink t-shirts in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Even Big Herc showed his pink support!

Tough loss last night for the Olympians but much improved over last week with stoppages at the line from the Olympian defense and a couple of TDs.

North Schuylkill’s offensive line was too much for the Olympian defense and while the Olympians did find the end zone twice in the Sept. 16, 2011 contest, they couldn’t stop the Spartans. Final score – 67-13.
