It didn’t stop raining but the Jim Thorpe offense and Red Swarm defense didn’t stop either. The final score: Jim Thorpe 42, Tamaqua 20.

Tons of fans came out last night, August 20, to meet the fall athletes representing Jim Thorpe Area High School. A couple of firsts worth noting:
1. First-ever Jim Thorpe Olympian girls soccer team
2. First-ever Jim Thorpe Olympian football team fielding more than 70 PLAYERS!

The Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association officially kicked off the 2008 season Friday, August 8 with its 5th annual Media Day at Maroons Sports Bar & Grill in Pottsville and the four Olympian Varsity Football Captains were there: Chris Demuro, James Nunez, Tony Mastretta, and Billy Reick.

The varsity, junior varsity and freshman football players attended the Northern Lehigh Passing Scrimmage Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in Slatington.
