Despite a great effort in making plays and racking up yardage, the junior varsity squad came up short 22-14 in the Sept. 5, 2009 10 a.m. game at Jim Thorpe Stadium.

The Olympians fought back from an early deficit to tie the game twice.
The third tie came with about a minute left with a John Fritz diving catch from Corey Cinicola.
The refs made a horrible call which put our kicker on the 18 yard line so we went for two points and missed.
Final score: Tamaqua 28 Jim Thorpe 27
Tough loss guys.
Now, let’s look ahead to beat the Golden Bears next Friday!

Thorpe breaks up this pass during the Aug. 27 scrimmage at Palmerton.
The Thursday, August 27 scrimmage against Palmerton attracted a big crowd on both sides of the field as the Olympians and Blue Bombers practiced game situations for three hours.
Jim Thorpe’s defense looked solid with Tyler Mangold, Mike Carpenter and Fox building an imposing wall at the line.
Cody Baier scored a touchdown on a run from QB Corey Cinicola.
There were lots of other great plays and thanks to the fans who came out to cheer on the team!
Our first game is against Tamaqua at Veteran’s Stadium. In case you haven’t heard, WNEP ranked Tamaqua #16 in their Super 16.
Let’s show WNEP and all of Northeastern PA who really deserves to be on the Super 16!
