Football is almost here!

The Olympian football players have been getting in shape for their 2011 season. The first game is at Tamaqua, Sept. 3 and we’re very excited! Click here for the complete schedule.

Please note that while the field is under construction, our home games will be played at Panther Valley Stadium in Lansford. Please be sure to come and support the kids while they sacrifice for the good of Olympian Stadium. These kids would like nothing less than to play on their own field but thanks to their flexibility future teams will enjoy Olympian Stadium.

I’d like to personally thank the Touchdown Club volunteers who have worked throughout the summer to raise money to support our team. you all know who you are and our program would not be what it is today without your commitment and support ALL YEAR LONG.

The community will see a new program this year thanks to the sales efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of Jim Thorpe and Carbon Co. area businesses. Our book will be just as big as last year and we could not have done it without the local businesses. THANK YOU!

So, let the countdown to Sept. 3 begin and we hope to see EVERYONE at Tamaqua to cheer on our 2011 Olympian football team.

Tough loss ends Olympians’ season

No one expected Jim Thorpe to give Northern Lehigh a run for its money but the Olympians did just that on Saturday night ending the first half with a score of 14-13. The Bulldogs eventually overpowered the Olympians and won 35-19 but Jim Thorpe was successful in stopping No. Lehigh’s two best players, Kern and Remalley. Great job guys!
